Who we are

Chatham Balloons designs, delivers and installs balloon decorations from a studio at 39 Center Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. This policy covers this website and the inquiries, bookings and messages that come through it.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you send an inquiry through our contact form, we collect:

• Your email address and phone number
• The delivery location for your event
• The service you are interested in
• Your event date and start time
• Any additional details you choose to write

We also keep what you send us afterwards — emails, texts, photographs of your space, and notes from calls — because that is how a booking actually gets planned.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website. If you book with us, payment is arranged separately and we do not store card numbers.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site or search that sent you. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for this. These set cookies in your browser.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The site works normally either way.

How we use your information

• To answer your inquiry and send you a concept and a quote
• To plan, build, deliver and install your order, and to collect afterwards
• To contact you about your booking — including on the day, which is usually by phone or text
• To keep records of work we have done
• To understand which pages of this site are useful, in aggregate
• To send you our seasonal newsletter by email, which you can stop at any time — see below

Email

We send our newsletter through a third-party email service. Information you give us for the mailing list is stored on their systems and handled under their privacy terms as well as ours.

Email newsletter

If you inquire with us or book with us, we may add your email address to our seasonal newsletter — a few emails a year with ideas for upcoming holidays and celebrations, and occasional news from the studio. You can unsubscribe at any time and we will stop. You can also ask to join without inquiring, and you can ask us to remove you without ever having received anything.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop emails about a booking you have actually made. Quotes, confirmations and delivery-day messages are part of the job, not marketing.

Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link and our postal address, and we act on unsubscribes straight away rather than within the period the law allows. We do not use misleading subject lines or sender names.

What we track in emails

Our email service records, and we can see, whether you opened an email and which links you clicked. This is done with a small invisible image in the message and by routing links through that service. Most email marketing works this way, and it is on by default.

We use it to:

• See which subjects are worth writing about and which are not
• Group the list by interest — for example corporate inquiries separately from birthdays — so you get fewer irrelevant emails rather than more
• Stop sending to people who have not opened anything in a long time

If you would rather not be tracked, most email apps let you block remote images, which prevents open tracking. Unsubscribing stops all of it. Alongside your email address we may hold the details you gave us when you inquired — such as the type of event and the town — so the list can be grouped sensibly.

Text messages

We may text you about a booking you have made — confirming a time, or letting you know the van is on its way. That is part of doing the job, not a marketing list, and we do not run a promotional texting program. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who run parts of our operation — our email service, our website analytics provider, and the hosting services that run this site and receive contact form submissions. They may only use your information to provide that service to us, and we ask them to protect it. We are happy to tell you who they are if you ask.
• Venues and delivery addresses, where coordinating your installation requires it — for example confirming an access window with a hotel or an office building.
• Anyone we are legally required to share it with, such as in response to a lawful request.

How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not become bookings are kept while they might still be useful and then deleted. Records of completed bookings are kept for as long as we need them for business and tax purposes. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices and your rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
• Stop sending you marketing, by any channel

Email info@chathamballoons.com and we will respond. We offer these choices to everyone who asks, whether or not a particular privacy law applies to us.

Children

We decorate a great many children's parties, but this website is intended for adults making arrangements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS and we limit access to inquiry information to the people who need it to do the work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. Material changes to how we use your information will be made clear rather than quietly edited in.
